Sami Hyypia hails Brighton & Hove Albion players after win over Leeds United

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Sami Hyypia praises the battling qualities of his side following the 2-0 win over Leeds United.

Sami Hyypia has admitted that he was delighted with the fight shown by his Brighton & Hove Albion players in the 2-0 victory over Leeds United on Tuesday night.

Goals from Joao Teixeira and Kazenga LuaLua were enough to earn Hyypia his first win in the Championship since taking over earlier in the summer, and the Seagulls boss was keen to pay tribute to his players after the final whistle.

"The first half was very good football and we dominated the game and showed what we can do," the Finn told BBC Radio 5 live.

"These Championship games are always a battle and we were fighting very hard, and it's battle you have to win if you want to win these games. The players were excellent today and I'm very happy."

Brighton return to action against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
