Assistant manager Marcus Stewart has insisted that there is a positive mood among the Bristol Rovers squad ahead of their clash with Forest Green Rovers in the Conference Premier playoffs this evening.
Rovers would have been promoted back to the Football League automatically on Sunday had they beaten Alfreton Town and leaders Barnet slipped up against Gateshead.
Despite keeping their end of the bargain thanks to a 7-0 victory, Barnet also won, which has confined Rovers to the playoffs.
However, ahead of their trip to the New Lawn Stadium for the semi-final first leg, Stewart has revealed that "the mood in camp is excellent".
"We put in a great performance against Alfreton, but knew we had to rely on Gateshead to do us a favour but that wasn't to be but going into the playoffs on the back of a 7-0 has put them in good spirits again. The mood in camp is excellent," he told the club's official website.
Rovers failed to win either of their games against Forest Green earlier this season.
