Sean Dyche "extremely proud" of Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says that he is "extremely proud" of his players following their promotion to the Premier League.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has said that he is "extremely proud" of his players following their promotion to the Premier League.

The Clarets claimed a 2-0 victory against Wigan Athletic this afternoon to seal their return to the top flight for the first time since 2010.

"We were intent on getting promoted ourselves, not having to rely on anyone else for help," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"It's getting harder to win automatic promotion to the Premier League because of all the constraints on teams like ourselves. I'm extremely proud."

Burnley can still win the Championship title this season, but they sit four points behind Leicester City in the table with two games left to play.
