Richard Money bemoans "poor mistakes" by Cambridge United players

Richard Money criticises the way that his Cambridge United side has defended this season.

Cambridge United manager Richard Money has claimed that his side would be much higher up the League Two table were it not for a number of defensive errors this season.

Only Northampton Town have scored more goals than the U's, but up the other end, Money's men have shipped 44 goals - ranking them 19th overall in the division.

Speaking after his side's 6-2 home defeat at the hands of Portsmouth at the weekend, Money admitted that his team have not been good enough defensively.

"All season long we've made some poor mistakes and it's cost us. We've got goals in us and we score enough goals to be higher up and have more points than we have," he told the Cambridge Evening News.

Cambridge are currently 16th in the standings, just six points above the relegation zone.
