Craig Gordon hails 'incredible atmosphere'

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon pays tribute to his club's supporters following Wednesday's 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League.

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has paid tribute to the home supporters for creating an 'incredible atmosphere' in Wednesday night's 3-3 draw against Manchester City at Celtic Park.

Man City entered the Champions League clash off the back of a 100% record in all competitions since Pep Guardiola took control before the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

Celtic held the Premier League leaders to a draw in Scotland, however, and 33-year-old Gordon has admitted that the occasion was "right up there" in terms of his own career.

"It's right up there. This is the highest level of club football and to finally manage that at the age of 33 is a special moment for me," Gordon told BBC Sport.

"We would have liked to get the three points but it was an incredible effort against a top quality side. The atmosphere was just incredible. The noise was unbelievable.

"There was a couple of times when I was absolutely screaming at Kolo [Toure] to leave the ball and he just couldn't hear me. I couldn't have shouted any louder."

Gordon replaces Dorius de Vries in the Celtic team for the Champions League clash.
