Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers claims that there is no reason why his side cannot get a positive result from their Champions League trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that his side can get a positive result from their Champions League trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Hoops sit bottom of Group C having picked up just one point from their opening three fixtures ahead of Tuesday's clash at the Borussia-Park.

Monchengladbach beat Celtic 2-0 in Glasgow a fortnight ago, but Rodgers believes that a solid away display from his side could see them get points in Germany.

"We didn't play so well in the last game and they probably played at a level they haven't played at for a number of weeks," the 43-year-old told Sky Sports News.

"But, with that in mind, if we don't make errors, we can still take something from the game.

"It is about putting in a performance away from home and if we can do that, then we know we have a possibility of getting a good result."

Celtic will be without Kolo Toure, Jozo Simunovic and Leigh Griffiths, who have missed the trip with a combination of injury, fatigue and illness.
