Chelsea will be without the services of three players for Tuesday's Champions League clash with AC Milan.
Wesley Fofana and N'Golo Kante have not made the trip to Italy, with the former out for around a month with the knee injury that he picked up in the 3-0 win over Milan in the European Cup last week.
There were fears that the Frenchman could be set for another long period on the sidelines with a knee problem, but the issue is not believed to be as serious as initially thought.
Kante, meanwhile, was thought to be in with a chance of making his return against Milan, with the Frenchman recently back in training after recovering from a hamstring problem.
However, the experienced midfielder, who has not represented the Blues since the middle of August, has not made the trip to Milan.

The absences of Fofana and Kante will not come as a surprise, but Hakim Ziyech has also been left out after missing the team's final training session ahead of flying to northern Italy.
"As reported from training in the morning, Wesley Fofana, N'Golo Kante and Hakim Ziyech were not part of the session and none of those three are in the match squad," read a statement on the club's official website.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter is due to speak to the media on Monday evening, where he is expected to confirm the reason for Ziyech's absence.
The Morocco international has made five appearances for the Blues this season, including two appearances in the Champions League, featuring off the bench against Dinamo Zagreb and Red Bull Salzburg.
The 29-year-old has only played four minutes of Premier League football since Potter's arrival as head coach, though, which came against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

There is currently speculation surrounding the attacker's future, with Milan thought to be interested in signing him during the January transfer window.
Chelsea have travelled to Milan with a squad of 22 players, including the likes of Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who are all expected to be in the starting side.
The Blues were bottom of Group E heading into their clash with the Italian champions last week, but the 3-0 victory allowed them to move up to second, one point behind leaders Salzburg.
Potter's side will enter this match off the back of a 3-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday, which has left them in fourth spot in the table on 16 points.
