Jose Mourinho: "I am responsible" for Chelsea defeat

Jose Mourinho says that he will forget about last night's defeat to Basel and be focused on getting three points at Fulham when he takes today's training session.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has taken responsibility for last night's 2-1 defeat to Basel.

The Blues took the lead at Stamford Bridge through Oscar, but goals from Mohamad Salah and Marco Streller helped the Swiss side to victory in the opening match of the Champions League campaign.

"I am the manager, I am responsible for everything, especially after a bad result," Mourinho told Sky Sports News. "In the good moments I want everyone to shine. In the bad moments I want everyone to keep calm.

"In the next [Champions League] match we go to Steaua Bucharest. We have to get the points to keep us in the Champions League. We don't want to play in the Europa League.

"Tomorrow I will not wake up with a smile on my face but at seven o'clock I will work hard to get three points at Fulham."

Schalke 04 beat Steaua Bucuresti in Group E's other match.
