Maxi Pereira confident of Chelsea turnaround

Maxi Pereira believes that Benfica can still qualify for the Champions League semi-finals ahead of Chelsea.

Benfica defender Maxi Pereira has insisted that the Portuguese side can still see off Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals, despite a 1-0 first-leg defeat.

Salomon Kalou's goal secured the Blues a 1-0 win at the Estadio da Luz on Tuesday night.

Despite having to overcome a deficit, Pereira believes that his team can reach the semi-finals.

"We did not deserve to be beaten 1-0 after that match," he told the club's official website.

"I am sure we can still progress. The team usually plays well and we will go into the second leg with hope because this is not over."

Benfica travel to Stamford Bridge for the second leg next Wednesday.
