Lampard: England saga won't affect players

Frank Lampard believes that the England players will be able to cope with the ongoing search for a new manager ahead of Euro 2012.

Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard is confident that the Three Lions squad will not be affected by the ongoing hunt for the new national team manager.

England are just months away from embarking on their Euro 2012 campaign but are still without a manager following Fabio Capello's departure in February.

"It's something, as a player, you learn to cope with - managers leave at times you don't expect them to," said Lampard.

"Can it be a negative because we've lost a manager and we lose our way, or can it be positive because we galvanise ourselves, whoever comes into lead us galvanises the team and it goes very well?

"We've seen that happen so many times. The important thing in this situation is that you've got the ability in the squad and in the players. And I believe in the squad we have that. So, for me, I don't think it makes much difference. It'll only be us who can dictate what difference it makes by playing well."

Reports have claimed that the new national coach will be announced before the end of the season, with Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp the overwhelming favourite to take the spot.
