Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero reveals on Twitter that he has apologised to Chelsea's David Luiz for a bad challenge on the defender during last weekend's FA Cup semi-final.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has apologised to Chelsea's David Luiz for his two-footed lunge on the defender during last weekend's FA Cup semi-final.

The forward escaped disciplinary action over the incident, but has made it clear that he regrets the challenge.

"I've contacted David Luiz and apologised for what happened during the match. It was an impulse reaction that shouldn't have happened," he wrote on Twitter.

Aguero netted City's second goal as the Sky Blues defeated the holders 2-1 to reach the final of the competition.
