A minute's silence will be observed before both FA Cup semi-finals this weekend to mark the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

The Football Association have confirmed that a minute's silence will be observed before both FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley this weekend.

The silence will mark the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, where 96 Liverpool supporters lost their lives.

Liverpool face Merseyside rivals Everton on Saturday, while Tottenham Hotspur take on Chelsea a day later.

Reds captain Steven Gerrard and his Everton counterpart Phil Neville will present members of the Hillsborough Family Support Group with flowers before their match takes place.

All players will be asked to wear black armbands.
