Chris Hughton: "Pressure is on Chelsea"

Chris Hughton claims that the pressure will be on Chelsea when Birmingham travel to Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton has said that the pressure will be on Chelsea when the sides meet at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup this afternoon.

Hughton insists that the London club will be anxious after allowing their Premier League position to slip in recent weeks, and believes that his side are more than capable of upsetting the odds.

"This will be a massive test," he told the club's official website. "The plus for us is no-one expects us to win. [Chelsea] are the class Premier League side and we are a team doing well in the Championship.

"It is important we go there and give a good account of ourselves but the pressure is on Chelsea to win the game.

"It is a welcome distraction from the league campaign and one that has filled us with excitement. Our European cup performances were full of endeavour and enthusiasm and we will need all of that to give ourselves a chance."

Meanwhile, Birmingham currently occupy the last playoff spot in the Championship.
