Chelsea 'hopeful over Eden Hazard fitness' after sustaining a knock

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is suffering from a minor knock picked up in Belgium's 3-3 draw with Mexico, while Jan Vertonghen is now back in training.

Eden Hazard is a fitness doubt for Chelsea's trip to West Bromwich Albion next weekend after picking up a knock during Belgium's draw with Mexico.

The 26-year-old sat out full training on Sunday morning and is now unlikely to play any part in the Red Devils' next friendly against Japan.

Journalist Kristof Terreur claims that the winger has instead been given his own individual training programme, as he recovers from one of the numerous kicks received in the 3-3 draw against Mexico on Friday evening.

According to Football.London, Chelsea remain hopeful that Hazard will shake off the minor issue before Saturday afternoon's clash at The Hawthorns.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has returned to Belgium training, meanwhile, having been ruled out of his side's previous match with an ankle problem.
