Thiago Silva, N'Golo Kante return to Chelsea training

Chelsea pair Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante both record negative coronavirus tests in order to secure a return to training on Tuesday.

Chelsea have seemingly been handed a boost ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup semi-final second leg with Tottenham Hotspur after Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante played a part in Tuesday's training.

Last Wednesday, head coach Thomas Tuchel revealed that the pair had tested positive for coronavirus, subsequently resulting in their absences for the following two fixtures.

In line with coronavirus protocols, they were allowed to leave isolation and return to training providing that they recorded a negative test on Tuesday afternoon.

At the time of his press conference earlier in the day, Tuchel cast doubt over whether the pair would be able to play any part of the fixture in North London.

However, images on Twitter show the pair playing a full part in training, potentially putting them in contention for a place on the substitutes' bench.

Chelsea head into the second leg having won the first fixture at Stamford Bridge by a 2-0 scoreline.
