Chelsea moved up into third place in the Premier League table on Saturday with a 3-0 win at local rivals West Ham United.

Frank Lampard opened the scoring for the Blues with a penalty midway through the first half before Oscar doubled their lead soon after.

The victory was then sealed late on as Lampard found the net for the second time against his former club.

Hello there and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage of this evening's Premier League encounter between London rivals West Ham United and Chelsea at Upton Park. We should have some team news for you shortly.

There are also a number of other Premier League fixtures entering the final stages, so we will also bring those results to you as and when they come in.

WEST HAM: Jaaskelainen; O'Brien, Collins, Tomkins, Demel; Downing, Nolan, Collison, Morrison, Noble, J.Cole

WEST HAM SUBS: McCartney, Jarvis, Maiga, Adrian, Taylor, Diame, C.Cole

It's just the one change for West Ham following their 3-1 defeat at Norwich City two weeks ago as Joey O'Brien replaces summer signing Razvan Rat.

CHELSEA: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Mikel, Lampard; Ramires, Oscar, Hazard; Eto'o

CHELSEA SUBS: Schwarzer, Cole, Essien, Mata, Willian, Schurrle, Ba

CHELSEA SUBS: Schwarzer, Cole, Essien, Mata, Willian, Schurrle, Ba

As with West Ham, it's just the one change for Chelsea. Willian is the man to make way following the Blues' 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion a fortnight ago. Jon Obi Mikel is the man to replace him.

There have already been a few goals in the Premier League today, but the standout game so far has to be the 3-3 draw between Everton and Liverpool in the early kickoff. If you want to find out about that crazy match on Merseyside then you can check out our report here.

PREMIER LEAGUE FULL TIME RESULTS:

Everton 3-3 Liverpool
Fulham 1-2 Swansea City
Hull City 0-1 Crystal Palace
Newcastle United 2-1 Norwich City
Stoke City 2-0 Sunderland

One result missing there is Arsenal's against Southampton. That's because the game at the Emirates Stadium kicked off 15 minutes late due to transport problems. However, we'll bring you the news from that one as soon as we have it. Arsenal are currently leading 1-0.

It's been a good day for West Ham so far. Sam Allardyce's side woke up in the relegation zone, but Fulham's 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea have seen them move out of the bottom three on goal difference. That's sure to take a bit of pressure off them for the time being.

What you'll have noticed in those Premier League results as well was a rare win for Crystal Palace as they beat Hull City 2-0 at the KC Stadium. What a win that is for the Eagles as they move off the bottom of the table. It's now Sunderland who prop up the standings.

UPDATE: The full-time whistle has gone at the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal have the three points thanks to a 2-0 win over Southampton. Olivier Giroud with both the goals.

The Gunners are now four points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table, but Chelsea can go level with the Merseysiders if they win tonight.

HEAD TO HEAD: It's Chelsea who have the better record between these two teams down the years, winning 38 games compared to West Ham's 36. Meanwhile, there have been 18 draws.

However, it was West Ham who came out on top in this fixture last season as they earned a 3-1 win against their local rivals. It was a rare triumph for the Hammers though - the last time that they beat Chelsea at Upton Park before that was in 2003.

Not long until kickoff now. The players are slowly emerging from the changing rooms and into the tunnel. It's a bitterly cold night in East London.

Okay then. The pre-match rituals have been done and it will be West Ham to get us underway. Here we go!

It's been a fairly calm start from both sides, but it's Chelsea who have seen most of the ball during the opening few minutes. The visitors have passed the ball around with little purpose, though they seem in control for now.

It's not been the most inspiring of starts, it has to be said. Chelsea are still looking a touch more dangerous as demonstrated by Eto'o turning in the box, but his shot is blocked by a number of West Ham bodies. It looks like the hosts might have to bide their time and hit their opponents on the break tonight.

Ten minutes have passed and there still haven't been any decent chances in front of goal. Having watched that thrilling Merseyside derby earlier, this seems like a bit of a damp squib. Still, plenty of time for that to change.

West Ham launch a quick counter-attack following some Chelsea pressing, but that final pass just isn't there and the visitors deal with the threat.

CHANCE! The first proper attempt at goal goes the way of Chelsea as Oscar picks the ball up on the edge of the box, but the Brazilian fires high and wide.

CHANCE! Sure enough, West Ham have an opportunity to open the scoring soon after Oscar's miss. Downing's cross made it's way to Cole in the area, though his shot is blocked by the Chelsea defence. A nervy moment for the away side there. That's got the crowd a bit more roused.

PENALTY TO CHELSEA!

GOAL! WEST HAM 0-1 CHELSEA (LAMPARD, PENALTY)

Chelsea lead through Frank Lampard's penalty, but what an awful goal for West Ham to concede. Guy Demel's weak backpass forced Jussi Jaaskelainen to come off his line and foul Oscar, allowing former Hammers midfielder Lampard to fire in from 12 yards.

CHANCE! Lampard nearly grabs a second for Chelsea as he gets on the end of Oscar's cross, but his tame effort is easily gathered by Jaaskelainen.

If anything, that Chelsea opener hasn't changed an awful lot in this match. The Blues are looking a bit more calm, though West Ham have woken up a bit despite going behind. That said, it's still been a fairly poor match so far.

CHANCE! Lampard has the West Ham defence worried again as he gets on the end of Hazard's cross, though the England international can only plant his header wide of goal.

GOAL! WEST HAM 0-2 CHELSEA (OSCAR)

We may have only had 33 minutes of football at Upton Park, but that could well be game over. Oscar doubled the visitors' lead as he is allowed to run at the West Ham defence before hitting a low effort into the bottom corner past Jaaskelainen. It's a long way back for the Hammers now.

Not a bad response from West Ham as Downing puts a superb cross into the heart of the Chelsea box, but Terry is there to get rid of the danger. Rumour has it that the hosts could be making a couple of changes shortly.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Here come those changes for West Ham as Joe Cole and Jack Collison are replaced by Modibo Maiga and Mohamed Diame. The home fans aren't happy, to put it mildly.

Only a couple of minutes left of normal time in this first half, and it's Chelsea who look more likely of getting the next goal as they keep West Ham pinned back in their own half.

As it stands, Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League table. However, if they score another couple of goals without conceding then they will move up to second place. You wouldn't put it past them if the first half is anything to go by.

Where do West Ham go from here? That was a woeful first half from Sam Allardyce's side, but they are still just about in this match. An early goal for the Hammers after the break and who knows?

Right, the players are back out and it will be Chelsea to kick us off for the second half.

Chelsea have shown plenty of attacking intent during the opening few minutes of this second half, but it is West Ham who nearly find the third goal of the night as Downing's cross evades everyone before Petr Cech gets down low to push the ball away.

CHANCE! Some lovely skill from Oscar there as he feeds in Eto'o, but the Cameroonian striker sees his shot shot saved by Jaaskelainen. Chelsea then come close to going 3-0 up as Cahill's effort from the resulting corner is cleared off the line.

CHANCE! Yet more Chelsea pressure ends up with Lampard having a crack at goal from around 20 yards. However, the midfielder's shot is a weak one that Jaaskelainen gets down low to gather easily. The visitors are knocking on the door here as they look to put this game to bed.

CHANCE! Now that should be 3-0 to Chelsea. The ball is teed up to Oscar at the back post, but the Brazilian puts it wide from close range while on the stretch.

We've had an hour played and Chelsea still lead West Ham 2-0 at Upton Park. The hosts have shown some signs of life in the last few minutes, though it's Chelsea who still look completely in control.

CHANCE! That's wonderful from Eto'o. The striker showed superb skill to turn on the ball before trying to curl it into the top corner. However, he can only screw his dipping shot inches off target.

MISS! How has Maiga not scored? Demel did absolutely brilliantly to take on a handful of Chelsea shirts before crossing to his teammate. You'd have put money on Maiga rolling the ball into the net, but he somehow rolls it wide.

The two managers are currently down on the touchline, but it's Jose Mourinho who looks far more comfortable at the moment. Sam Allardyce continues to gesticulate with some vigour.

Credit to West Ham, they've come alive in the last few minutes. There's been a bit more bite in their attacks as Chelsea sit back and look to soak up some pressure. You'd have to say that the Hammers need to find a goal in the next 10 minutes if they are to get something from this match.

The hosts are certainly cranking up the pressure on their opponents now. They're showing plenty of fight, but has it come too late? Their dreadful display in the first half could well have cost them tonight.

SUBSTITUTION: West Ham make a change now as Matt Jarvis replaces Kevin Nolan. A rather loud chorus of boos follow Nolan off the pitch - it sounds like the West Ham fans are happy to see them back of him.

GOAL! WEST HAM 0-3 CHELSEA (LAMPARD)

Game well and truly over as Frank Lampard scores his second goal of the match to put Chelsea 3-0 up. The ball fell to the midfielder on the edge of the area, and he made no mistake by drilling it past Jaaskelainen. Meanwhile, Demba Ba and Andre Schurrle have replaced Oscar and Samuel Eto'o for the visitors.

SUBSTITUTION: Chelsea's final change sees Michael Essien come on for Eden Hazard. This is Essien's first Premier League appearance in 18 months.

Remember, another goal and Chelsea wil go second in the table. As it stands they will only be going third.

A matter of minutes left to play at Upton Park and Chelsea are passing the ball around like they're on the training pitch. It's been a decent evening's work for Jose Mourinho's side.

Three minutes of added time.

FULL TIME: WEST HAM 0-3 CHELSEA

The full-time whistle goes and Chelsea move up into third place in the Premier League table with a 3-0 win over West Ham United. Frank Lampard scored twice for the visitors, while Oscar also found the net.

Anyway, that's all from me for now but don't forget that you can keep up to date with all the reaction from tonight's match right here on Sports Mole. Thank you very much for your company and we hope to see you again soon. Goodbye!
