Chelsea formally reveal their kit for the 2024-25 campaign, as well as announcing there have been seven new shirt-number allocations.

Chelsea have taken to social media to formally reveal their new kit for the 2024-25 campaign.

The Blues have been preparing for yet another new era for some time having replaced Mauricio Pochettino as head coach with Enzo Maresca.

Furthermore, an array of new talent - both experienced and less so - have entered through the arrival door at Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea have waited until the middle of July to showcase their new shirt for the new season, labelling it 'We Burn Blue' across a range of posts on X.

Chelsea squad number update

The West Londoners have also taken the opportunity to announce that there are currently seven different squad numbers in comparison to last season.

While it was stated that the numbers are subject to change before the season commences in a month's time, there are some notable alterations.

With Thiago Silva having left the club to move to Fluminense, Levi Colwill has taken over the number six shirt, rather than retaining the 26 that was famously worn by John Terry.

Meanwhile, Wesley Fofana has switched from the number 33 to the number 29, which had been left vacant throughout 2023-24.

What numbers have been given to new signings?

Tosin Adarabioyo was the first announced signing of the summer, and the centre-back has taken on the number four, another shirt which was not occupied last season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is in a position to retain the number 22 that he held at Leicester City. Again, no Chelsea player has held that shirt over the past 12 months.

The more youthful trio of Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu and Renato Veiga will wear 37, 38 and 40 during the pre-season tour of the United States.

Nevertheless, Chelsea make a point of saying that they will 'initially' take on those respective numbers, hinting that there could be changes if Maresca chooses to retain any of them in his senior ranks in the long term.

As it stands, no-one is occupying the number nine, 12 or 26, while the number 30 is the next lowest available shirt.
