Didier Drogba says that he told Andre Villas-Boas that he was "dreaming" if he believed that Chelsea would win the Champions League.

Didier Drogba has revealed that he laughed at Andre Villas-Boas when the Portuguese manager said that Chelsea would win the Champions League.

The Ivorian scored the winning penalty in Saturday night's shootout against Bayern Munich to claim the Blues' first triumph in the competition.

Drogba said that he lost faith in Chelsea's ability to win the tournament under Villas-Boas but the older players have now come good under Roberto Di Matteo.

"Football is funny. I remember in November Villas-Boas had told me we would win the Champions League," said Drogba.

"I responded 'Are you dreaming or what? We've lost all our values. There's no more team. It's impossible'.

"Finally the return of the old players, with [Frank] Lampard and me, did the team good."

It is rumoured that Drogba is set to leave Stamford Bridge.
