Experienced centre-back John Terry has claimed that he feels 'better than ever' and wants to sign a new contract with Chelsea.
The 35-year-old was widely lauded for his performances last season as Chelsea secured the Premier League title.
Terry has struggled for his best form this season, however, and it had been suggested that the former England captain would depart Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the end of the season.
That is not in the central defender's mind, however, as he prepares to end his professional career with the Londoners.
"I certainly think so. I think when you get to age, there are a lot of people out there saying 'He's 35, almost 36, maybe his legs have gone.' I've never had legs, it's as simple as that. I've never been quick, all my career," Terry told reporters.
"Everyone gets it in their heads but physically I'm feeling as good as I've ever felt for the last two, three years. I'm still in the right state of mind, I'm still hungry. I want to be here — I want to finish my career here, of course."
Terry scored at both ends of the field as Chelsea drew 3-3 with Everton in the Premier League at the weekend.
