Vincent Kompany: 'Win the right signal, but more to come from Manchester City'

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany says that the club's win over Chelsea will send out the right signal, but that he expects more to come from the team this season.

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has stated that his side's 3-0 victory over Premier League champions Chelsea will help to send out a positive signal for the rest of the campaign.

Kompany was on the scoresheet alongside Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho as Manuel Pellegrini's charges cruised to victory, and the Belgian centre-back has gone as far as to state that there will be even more to come from the club this season.

"There actually wasn't much difference to how we played against Chelsea twice last season, but this time we managed to score and not make the same mistakes," said Kompany, according to Sky Sports News.

"It was a comfortable game.To start the way we did today is definitely the right signal but there's still a lot to come.

"As a defender scoring is not what I take most pride, but I am really happy with the two clean sheets – that is what makes me sleep well at night."

City have scored six goals in their opening two games of the season and are yet to concede.
