Manuel Pellegrini talks up 'complete game' following victory over Chelsea

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that his side produced a "complete game" following their resounding 3-0 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has talked up the performances of his players as they put Chelsea to the sword with an emphatic 3-0 win in the Premier League.

The Sky Blues ensured that they continued their perfect start to the new season with a resounding win on home soil, as goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho left Chelsea on just one league point after two games played.

"To play against Chelsea is always very difficult – they defend with a lot of players and are fast on the counter attack," said Pellegrini, according to BBC Sport.

"But today we made a complete game, not only because we scored three goals but in the first 45 minutes we could have scored three more. Only the great performance of Asmir Begovic was the reason why we couldn't.

"We played in the way I like, to always try to score more. It was a great performance."

City's next game sees them travel to face Roberto Martinez's Everton.
