Michael Laudrup positive despite defeat against Chelsea

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup praises his players despite their 1-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has hailed his players for managing to stay in the game despite their 1-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Welsh club were sunk by a solitary first-half goal from Eden Hazard, having also had an Alvaro Vazquez effort tipped over the bar by Petr Cech.

"It is important for me that we stayed in the game against a team like this, believing we could get something," said Laudrup, according to BBC Sport.

"We didn't get anything this time, but we have to take that to the next game."

The result sees Laudrup's men sitting in 11th position in the Premier League table.
