Jose Mourinho: 'Chelsea are not against referees'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that the club are "not against referees" after comments made about officials over the Christmas period.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is not interested in the misconduct charge handed to him by the Football Association after comments he made in the wake of the club's match with Southampton.

Mourinho was charged after claiming that there was a campaign to influence decisions against his side, but after avoiding media duties last week, the Portuguese coach has revealed that he has no issues with Premier League officials.

The 51-year-old told reporters: "I am not interested in the FA misconduct charge, I just ignore it and get on with my job.

"We are not against the referees, their job is not easy. I'm happy to admit my mistakes, so when I spoke with Kevin Friend and, realised it was my mistake and not his, I apologised.

"The reality is that every decision is going against us and the results are affected by that. But I want to put any doubts about the honesty of people beyond us totally."

It was revealed on Thursday that Mourinho would appeal the charge handed to him by the FA.
