Jose Mourinho: Chelsea have had a "very good" season

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that the club have had a "very good" season, despite the possibility of failing to win a trophy.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the club don't need to win a trophy for this season to be considered a success.

After losing in the Champions League semi-finals in midweek, Chelsea's only hope of silverware is in the Premier League, but regardless of how they perform in their final two games, Mourinho has revealed that it has been a "very good" campaign.

The 51-year-old told reporters: "I don't think that it is a bad season. It is a transitional season and to arrive where we have arrived is very good.

"If you told me that for two, three, four years in a row that we don't do more than fight for the title until the last game and to go to the Champions League semi-final, that is a good step."

The Blues can keep the pressure on their title rivals with three points against Norwich City on Sunday afternoon.
