Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes that his side will be capable of challenging for trophies for many years to come.
The Blues have several key players under the age of 27 such as David Luiz, Eden Hazard and new signing Andre Schurrle, and the Portuguese believes that the youthful nature of his squad is positive sign for the future of the club.
Mourinho told Chelsea's official website: "This team is a very young team, if we take Mark Schwarzer at 40, a fantastic goalkeeper to be fair, out of the list, our age goes very low, people that will be better year after year.
"I'm not saying we don't want to win now, that's the nature of this club, my nature, always trying to win.
"Don't wait until tomorrow if you can win today, but my job is different because I have young people and I am preparing them not just for this year but for the future."
The Blues recorded a 2-0 win over AC Milan in the pre-season friendly on Sunday, thanks to goals from Schurrle and Kevin de Bruyne.
