Eddie Newton returns to Chelsea in a coaching capacity to once again link up with interim manager Roberto Di Matteo.

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has added Eddie Newton to his coaching staff at Stamford Bridge.

The pair have worked together on two separate occasions in recent seasons during Di Matteo's stints in charge of MK Dons and West Bromwich Albion.

Steve Holland will remain as assistant first team coach, while Christophe Lollichon has kept his position as goalkeeping coach.

Chris Jones, who has been with the club since 2006, will step up to take the role of first team fitness coach.

However, Jose Mario Rocha and Daniel Sousa will leave the club's coaching team with immediate effect.

The duo were brought to Chelsea by Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked as manager yesterday afternoon.
