Jamie Redknapp rubbishes Chelsea's 'boring' tag following title win

Jamie Redknapp rubbishes suggestions that Chelsea are 'boring' following their Premier League title triumph at the weekend.

Jamie Redknapp has rejected suggestions that Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side are 'boring' following their Premier League title triumph.

The Blues took the crown on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's style of play has drawn its critics, but Redknapp believes that the main problem was the lack of challenge made by the teams around them.

In his Daily Mail column, Redknapp wrote: "There's no doubt Chelsea are deserved champions. They have fantastic individuals in the spine of their side and Jose Mourinho has turned them into a real team.

"And you can forget about 'boring'. The only boring thing about them has been the lack of a challenge. If other teams had stepped up, there might have actually been some pressure on Chelsea. Instead they were able to grind out the results they needed."

City are the closest to Chelsea in the table, but they are 13 points behind.
