Chelsea's new manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly helped convince owner Roman Abramovich not to sell the club.

Maurizio Sarri's performance as Chelsea manager is reportedly convincing owner Roman Abramovich not to sell the club.

The Italian was installed as the Blues' new boss over the summer and has begun the new Premier League season strongly, winning all four of their games to date.

Abramovich, meanwhile, has been rumoured to be mulling a £2bn sale of the club amid an uncertain financial climate and a recent dispute over his visa to enter the UK.

According to the Daily Star, the Russian's feelings "have been fluctuating greatly" over the last year, exacerbated by Sarri's predecessor Antonio Conte's unhappiness with the club's transfer dealings.

A source is quoted as saying by the newspaper: "The prospect of Roman selling Chelsea depends on his mood. And he has been in a much better one since Sarri arrived."

Abramovich has owned Chelsea since 2003, during which time the club has made 14 managerial appointments and won the Premier League five times, as well as the Champions League and the Europa League.
