Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge thinks that the Blues shouldn't "worry" despite losing three of their last five matches, with pressure building on manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The former Premier League champions suffered a second successive defeat to Liverpool on home turf last night, courtesy of a 2-0 scoreline in the Carling Cup quarter-final.

"The most important thing is for us to go out there and play our natural game," The Express quote Sturridge as saying.

"When we worry about the anxieties and the stresses, worry about what the fans and the pundits are thinking, that is the one thing that can send the team into a downward spiral.

"So it is important not to worry. We lost a bit of momentum - we had some big games which we lost, but we were unfortunate in how we lost those games, because we played well. I just don't think we have had the luck."

Villas-Boas's side travel to the North East on Saturday to face Newcastle United in the day's early kickoff.
