Roberto Di Matteo has emerged as a reported target for Aston Villa as Randy Lerner continues his search for a new manager.
It is not yet clear whether the Italian will be asked to continue as Chelsea's boss on a full time basis after guiding the Blues to victory in the FA Cup and Champions League.
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has said that a decision on who will take the reins next can be expected within the new few weeks.
According to The Mirror, Lerner will approach the 41-year-old should Roman Abramovich decide to look elsewhere for a new manager.
Serie A side Lazio are also rumoured to be eyeing their former player.
Di Matteo, who took over from Andre Villas-Boas at Stamford Bridge in March, has previously managed West Bromwich Albion and MK Dons.
Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has also been linked with the vacancy at Villa Park.
