Agent expects Branislav Ivanovic, Chelsea extension

Branislav Ivanovic's agent expects the Chelsea right-back to be offered an extension despite his early-season struggles.

The agent of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has revealed that his client is likely to be offered a contract extension.

The right-back, 31, has fallen foul of the club's supporters during what has proven a disappointing start to the season for the Premier League champions, who sit 16th.

His existing deal expires in the summer, but his representative expects the Serbian - who has won eight major trophies during his seven years at Stamford Bridge - to sign an extension.

Zoran Krneta told InterLive.it: "Most probably he will renew his deal with Chelsea."

Ivanovic joined the Blues from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008.
