The agent of Barcelona striker David Villa has revealed that his client is unlikely to leave the Nou Camp during the upcoming January transfer window.
A report in an English newspaper this morning had claimed that Chelsea were keen to secure the 31-year-old's service on a six-month loan basis, with a view to a permanent switch.
However, agent Victor Onate has insisted that the striker's future is down to his current Spanish employers.
"There is always speculation about David because he is a great forward, but his future is in the hands of Barcelona," Onate told Sky Sports News.
"They have a contract and it is important to always respect such documents."
Villa has made just 12 appearances for Barca in La Liga this season.
