Andoni Zubizarreta: 'David Villa staying at Barcelona'

Barcelona director of football Andoni Zubizarreta insists that the club will not allow David Villa to leave in January.

Barcelona director of football Andoni Zubizarreta has insisted that the club will not be selling David Villa in January.

The striker has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in recent weeks, with Arsenal and Swansea City two of the surprise names thought to be interested in a move.

"In January we will keep Villa," Zubizarreta told Canal Plus. "And it is important to remember that Barcelona is a club that habitually does not accept offers for star players in January."

Villa returned to the Barca team at the start of the season after missing the second half of the last campaign with a broken leg.
