Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen will officially sign a pre-contract with Barcelona next week, according to a report.

Andreas Christensen will reportedly officially sign a pre-contract with Barcelona next week.

The Denmark international's deal with Chelsea is due to expire at the end of June, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future in recent weeks.

The Blues have been attempting to sign the centre-back to an extension, but Barcelona are now believed to be on the verge of securing the Dane's services on a free transfer.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Christensen has turned down proposals from other English clubs, and Bayern Munich, in order to agree terms with the Catalan giants.

Romano claims that a new meeting will be held next week, when the 25-year-old is expected to complete his move to Camp Nou, with the deal going through once his contract has expired at Stamford Bridge.

Christensen has again been an important player for Thomas Tuchel's side during the 2021-22 campaign, making 26 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist.
