Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed his desire to return to Barcelona at the conclusion of this season, with the striker set to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The 33-year-old joined the West London club from Xavi's men in August but has struggled to make an impact for the Blues, starting just five Premier League games as Frank Lampard's side fight for a top-half finish.
Chelsea earned their first win under the caretaker control of Lampard on Saturday with a 3-1 success at Bournemouth, however Aubameyang did not make the matchday squad despite starting against title-chasing Arsenal last week.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Aubameyang 'will 100% leave Chelsea' this summer and his former club Barcelona are interested in bringing him back to Camp Nou.
The player himself expressed his wishes to return to the Catalonian club for next season via Djam Life on TikTok, saying: "I'd like to return to Barcelona... but we will see."
Barcelona's ongoing financial issues mean that the only way they could afford a move for the striker is likely if they were able to agree a deal without a transfer fee and with a reduced salary for the Gabon international.
