Barcelona are reportedly considering whether to rival Chelsea in the race to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde this summer.

Barcelona are reportedly considering whether to put together a proposal to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

If reports are to be believed, the Catalan giants have already agreed to sign Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen on a free transfer, boosting Xavi's options in the middle of his defence.

However, according to AS, the Barcelona boss remains keen to bring in another top name and Kounde features high up on his shortlist.

While Chelsea are clear favourites to sign the France international as a replacement for Christensen, the report claims that Barcelona are prepared to get creative in order to stay in the race for the 23-year-old's signature.

Aware that they can not match the Blues when it comes to a financial offer, Barcelona are willing to include at least one player in any proposal, including right-sided player Sergino Dest.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi may request at least one other player to reach a compromise over a deal, aware that Chelsea would pay a straight-cash fee.
