Yossi Benayoun set for Chelsea exit

Yossi Benayoun confirms that he is close to leaving to Chelsea.

Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun has confirmed that he is close to leaving the club.

The Israeli international has featured for just one minute under new Blues manager Andre Villas-Boas and appears to have slipped further down the pecking order following the arrival of Juan Mata from Valencia.

Reports suggested last week that Chelsea were willing to offer the 31-year-old as a makeweight in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric.

As a result Benayoun seems to have accepted his future may lay away from Stamford Bridge and confirmed on his Twitter: "negotiating with several team (sic) ...news soon."

A long-term Achilles injury only allowed Benayoun to feature ten times last season for Chelsea.
