Chelsea reportedly have no intention of triggering the £13.4m buyback clause in the contract of Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga this summer.

Chelsea have reportedly decided against triggering their buyback clause in the contract of Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga.

The 23-year-old left Stamford Bridge for the Italian outfit in a £3.6m deal two years ago and has since gone on to score 11 goals and create five more in 52 games for the club - including eight goals and four assists this season alone.

That form has seen him linked with a move back to Chelsea, who are in the market for a new winger with out-of-contract duo Willian and Pedro looking increasingly likely to leave the club at the end of the season.

Reports earlier this week suggested that the Blues could activate the €15m (£13.4m) buyback clause in Boga's contract, but Sport Mediaset claim that they have no intention of doing so.

Chelsea could instead allow Sassuolo to waive the clause for a £10.4m fee and then sell Boga on for profit, with a number of clubs in Europe thought to be interested.

Napoli are understood to be leading the race, while AC Milan and Rennes have also been linked.
