Chelsea may reportedly move for Villarreal forward Gerard Moreno if they lose out in the race for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Villarreal forward Gerard Moreno as an alternative to Erling Braut Haaland.

The Blues, who lifted the Champions League trophy last month, are said to have prioritised signing the Borussia Dortmund frontman this summer.

However, it has been claimed that the Norwegian would prefer to sign for Real Madrid, forcing Chelsea to look elsewhere to solve their issues in attack.

According to Fichajes, Thomas Tuchel is an admirer of Moreno, who has just enjoyed the best year of his career with Villarreal.

The Spain international contributed 30 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, helping his side win the Europa League.

The 29-year-old would cost considerably less than Haaland, something which may appeal to Chelsea as they bid to make a number of high-profile additions.
