Conor Gallagher is reportedly worried that he will not be given a chance to prove himself in the Chelsea team next year, despite his impressive form at Crystal Palace.

Chelsea's Conor Gallagher reportedly fears that he will not be given a fair chance to prove himself in the Blues' first team next season.

The 21-year-old continues to impress under the tutelage of Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace, chalking up four goals and two assists in 10 Premier League games this term.

Gallagher's impressive form saw him rewarded with a maiden England call-up for the 10-0 thrashing of San Marino, and he is set to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season to try to prove his worth to Thomas Tuchel.

However, Eurosport claims that the midfielder still has 'reservations' about his Chelsea future, even though he has been given first-team assurances by the Blues.

The report adds that Gallagher is worried about the prospect of Chelsea dipping into their war chest in the transfer market rather than relying on up-and-coming academy players, and his future with the Champions League holders is therefore far from secure.

Gallagher made the bench for Chelsea's 4-1 win over Arsenal in the 2018-19 Europa League final but is yet to make his first-team debut for his boyhood club.

The former West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City and Charlton Athletic loanee sees his deal with Chelsea expire in the summer of 2025.
