Maidenhead sign ex-Chelsea defender Nii Nortei Nortey

Conference South team Maidenhead United sign former Chelsea academy player Nii Nortei Nortey.

Conference South side Maidenhead United have signed former Chelsea academy player Nii Nortei Nortey on a free transfer.

The England-born Ghanaian defender spent the first part of the 2013-14 season on trial at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday after being released by the Blues last summer.

Nortey, 19, joined the Chelsea academy aged 14, but injuries restricted his playing time and he was eventually let go.

Maidenhead are currently 18th in the Conference South table.
