Chelsea have reportedly reached a stalemate in contract talks with England international Mason Mount.
The 23-year-old is currently under contract with the Blues until June 2024 after signing a five-year deal with the club when he returned from a loan spell with Derby County in 2019.
Chelsea agreed a new six-year contract with Reece James in September, and they are now looking to secure the long-term future of Mount.
Despite beginning discussions over a new deal in the summer, The Telegraph are reporting that talks between Chelsea and Mount have reached a stalemate.
The Blues are still determined to reach an agreement with their academy product, and fresh discussions are expected to take place over the coming months.
However, the report claims that Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini and Villarreal's Yeremy Pino are regarded as potential replacements if Mount fails to agree a new deal.
Mount has registered two goals and six assists in 21 Chelsea appearances this season, and he is set to represent England at the World Cup in Qatar.
