Chelsea's Jose Mourinho pleased with summer activity

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is pleased to have avoided the transfer deadline day rush by making all of his signings earlier in the summer.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that he is pleased with his transfer activities in the summer.

The Blues signed Andre Schurrle, Marco van Ginkel, Mark Schwarzer, Willian and Samuel Eto'o over the past three or so months, while letting go of Victor Moses and Romelu Lukaku on loan on Monday.

"It is time for every one of us to think about the competitions and to think about the improvement of our players, and to stop thinking about selling and buying and who is coming and who is leaving," Mourinho told Chelsea TV.

"For us, I think everything was done properly and calmly and decisions were made with a lot of time [to spare]. Of course, there are always in the last day things to do and people to leave because we have to think about us, as a team, as a group, as a club, but we have also to think about the players individually, what is the best for them and what is the best for us in terms of the future."

Chelsea are currently second in the Premier League table with seven points from three matches.
