Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is expected to engage in further discussions with Bayer Leverkusen over the proposed transfer of Andre Schurrle on Wednesday.
There is believed to be a part-exchange deal in place between the two sides, with Kevin de Bruyne likely to head to Germany as part of the transfer.
The two sides meet in Michael Ballack's testimonial match on Wednesday night, where Mourinho pits his World XI against a team managed by Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller, and the latter is expecting transfer talks to take place after the match.
"The main focus will be on Michael and quite rightly so," Voller told the Daily Star.
"But we are working on a solution for Andre and it is inevitable I will speak to Mourinho afterwards."
A potential sticking point to the deal is thought to be De Bruyne's preference to join Borussia Dortmund over Leverkusen.
