Real Madrid 'turn down chance to sign Chelsea's N'Golo Kante'

Real Madrid reportedly do not want to sign Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante, having turned down the chance to sign the Frenchman on a free transfer.

Real Madrid have reportedly rejected the chance to sign N'Golo Kante from Chelsea on a free transfer next summer.

Kante's contract is up in the summer and there is a chance he could leave Chelsea after six years at the club.

According to Defensa Central, Madrid have been offered the chance to sign Kante, but have turned down the opportunity.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona as well, but he will not be signing for the reigning Champions League holders.

Having been sidelined since Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur back in August with a combination of a hamstring and knee injuries, he has only played 175 minutes of action this season.

It meant the two-time Premier League winner missed out on the opportunity to help his country retain the World Cup in Qatar, with his country reaching back-to-back semi-finals following their win over England.
