Report: Chelsea open to Fernando Torres loan should they fail to sell striker

Chelsea are reportedly considering a loan deal for Fernando Torres should they struggle to sell the striker in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly considering the option of sending Fernando Torres out on loan should they fail to sell the striker in the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard has been touted as a possible departure from Stamford Bridge following manager Jose Mourinho's claims that the club need a new striker.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea would allow Torres to return to Atletico Madrid as part of an exchange deal involving Diego Costa, but it is believed that the Spanish outfit are interested in an initial loan agreement.

Reports have also claimed that a temporary switch to Inter Milan could be an option for Torres if the Serie A side pay his wages or a loan fee.

The former Liverpool forward, who signed for the Blues from Merseyside for £50m back in January 2011, has netted just four goals in 23 appearances in the Premier League this season.
