Oriol Romeu hopes for Valencia stay

Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu says that he would like to make his stay at Valencia permanent at the end of the season.

Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has admitted that he would like to make his loan deal with Valencia permanent at the end of the season, but said that the final decision would rest with the Blues.

Romeu said that he is aware of Valencia's interest in signing him permanently, but did not rule out the possibility of a return to his parent club as he still has a year to run on his contract.

"I'm very happy here," he told Marca. "The latest we know is that Valencia are happy with me and they would like me to stay.

"I'm very comfortable here, but we'll have to wait until the end of the season. I still have a year on my contract and anything can happen. It's up to Chelsea to decide."

Romeu has made 10 league appearances since joining Valencia.
