Tottenham Hotspur were the team to make a £75m bid for Lille forward Victor Osimhen, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly the team to launch a £75m bid for Lille forward Victor Osimhen.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for his French club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 18 times in 38 appearances in all competitions.

A recent report claimed that Lille had received an offer of £75m for the Nigeria international amid suggestions of interest from both Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, according to Les Cahiers du Football editor Abdellah Boulma, the bid in question came from Jose Mourinho's Tottenham.

Inter Milan are also believed to be interested in a summer deal, but Osimhen allegedly favours a move to the Premier League over a switch to Italy.

Spurs are expected to be in the market for a new forward this summer to provide competition for Harry Kane, but the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak is likely to curb their spending.
