Louis van Gaal advises Wesley Sneijder to join Chelsea

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal believes that Wesley Sneijder would benefit from joining Chelsea from Galatasaray.

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has advised Wesley Sneijder to join Chelsea from Galatasaray.

The 28-year-old midfielder recently fuelled speculation linking him with a summer move to Stamford Bridge by revealing that he keeps in contact with current Blues boss Jose Mourinho after working under him at Inter Milan.

"Sneijder to Chelsea is just a rumour at the moment, but it would be much easier for me to keep an eye on his progress if he were to make the move to Chelsea," Van Gaal told Algemeen Dagblad.

"I could be at Chelsea within an hour from Netherlands and Mourinho is a friend of mine."

Sneijder joined Turkish champions Galatasaray from Inter in January 2013 for around £6.4m.
