Peter Vermes: 'Jermain Defoe, Frank Lampard bound for MLS'

Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes believes that Jermain Defoe and Frank Lampard will soon sign for MLS clubs.

Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes has claimed that both Jermain Defoe and Frank Lampard are likely to move to the MLS in the near future.

The England internationals, who play for Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea respectively, have recently been linked with switches across the Atlantic.

When asked about the possibility of those two signing on for MLS clubs, Vermes identified Toronto FC and Los Angeles Galaxy as potential destinations.

"Defoe I think is a done deal already, that's just my opinion - to Toronto," he told Sky Sports News. "Frank was linked last year and I think he stayed on because Mourinho went back. There is a good chance that he will make the move to LA Galaxy."

Vermes recently guided his side to the MLS Cup at the expense of Real Salt Lake.
